As at today, the most stable version of Clipper is 5.2e while the latest version, 5.3a was introduced on 21 May 1996. I think you commint a little mistake when you unpacked the clipper_v5.2e_installed.zip file. You should let only CLIPPER folder in root of your C:, if unpacking programm created a folder named clipper_v5.2e_installed please take off, let only CLIPPER in the root.
